OF LOVE
(This valentine 2009)
Time has yielded to love
Love pure and eternal fresh
And today
Crowned with petals of red
While underneath
Washed with fragrance so sweet
And the moon and the stars
Shining high above
And armies of lit candles
All burning for love
The whole world unites
To make a toast for love
In warm embraces
And hands clasped together
With souls so closely knit
With the strongest threads of love
What a beautiful valentine
For bodies and minds entwine
United and unified
By the unequalled force of love
Time has yielded to love
But will love outlive time?
Philosophers can mull on that
While us poets go met our dates
For today is a special day.
p.s. - love is so fragile and fickle
Or why are we so vulnerable in love?
And of my valentine,
Ask me about it another day.
TRUE TO MY SOULMATE
Across an occean on an island
My soulmate stood
Beckoning me to sail my raft
And make my promise good
With the pair of faith and hope
I set forth for my fortune
Not once did I take my eyes off her
And only once I blinked
From sunshine to sunset the sun cheered me on
And the sea fed me with tuna
As darkness fell the moon lit and shone my path
And thence I blinked the third!
When morning came I was only a mile away
And still she still had that smile for me
Oh what beauty, Angelina Jolie can’t touch her
Like an angel n flesh she stood there flawless
A queen of unmatched splendor
She held forth her hand
And I taking it
With an embrace I was crowned king
A soulmate for my soul.
The King Is Back
If he claims king and he claims best
then I guess you all should worship me,
Nay, I take that back.
If he claims king and he claims best
then I guess you’all should fall at my feet,
my bad, I’m teasing you
Ok here I go....
Fall at my feet
Price tag ain't come out yet
Shoes still new
Smell- they smell fresh
And yet I’ve gone a thousand miles
How many would that be in extra miles?
Get off the ground stand up
Look at me through the lenses
Steady your hands
Lest you break your wine glasses
Me- I fell to rise up
You- you fail to raise it up
(my) Good gals laugh at that
And if that aint love
What’s love?
I bet if he claims king
And I reckon he claims best
you’all should fall at his feet
Everybody say the king is back
Hail to the one for the king is back
I dint hear you!!!!
MAIN MAN STORY
Main man is not like many men
Main man is different
It’s very hard to understand him
Main man is misunderstood
People love him when he’s a sculpture
And hate him when he’s human
Like we all appreciate art
Though we scarcely understand it
Main man knows he’s a small god
And all who meet him awed all adore him
He struts the catwalk runways
To make cover page pictures for glossy magazines
Main man is different
Even in love he doesn’t love he adores
Yet the wood he’s curved from though rare is unfashionable
And that’s where everything starts to go wrong
Driven by fear of what they don’t understand
A reason is found for main man to be dethroned
Main man, our god, we love it how you love us
Oh how your body is exquisitely curved
On the catwalk we applaud and take your pictures with our Nokias
They make such exotic screen-savers
See how girls swoon over your cover page pictures
You are even the envy of gay men in their gay clubs
But main man we have agreed you are too different
And as such main man we are letting you go
We mean, main man we are letting you fall.
HANDING MYSELF OVER
I’m found
I’m being handed over to myself
There is no crowd
No celebrations nor such festivals
Only I for myself
And there is no verification
For only I know myself
It’s been lonely
Melancholy over melancholy without myself
And in silence I hug myself
Hiding emotions men are not supposed to show
It’s been such a loss
But now, face to face with myself stand
Torrents of emotions crash
A wave of pain and joy smash inside me
This is my unification
I’m reborn, I’m re-attached
I’m not two anymore but one
There is no forgiveness
For there was never a wrong
My own I’ve returned to myself
And I get to keep the hand cuffs!
A SOUL YOU WILL REMEMBER
From the heights of my soul
I know not of any cold
From the depths of my souls
I buckle not of any force
Show me now the brightest star
And I will match it but charm better
Take me in a field of blooming flowers
And I will pen poetry you will remember forever
Break if you can twice broken
And I will spring back with grace unparalleled
A student I am yes
But I tutor my teachers
I lift up my hands
And angels drop for a handshake
I am prized than all the worlds
Gold and diamond
Yet I am the poorest of beggars
I will never own myself.
YOU LEAD
Believe
In greater you
See
A bigger you
Dreams
Will come true
Think
Use a blue hue
Control
It’s all in you
Breathe
Life is in you
Truth
Tell always to you
Look
Make them you
Love
But first you
Drift
Let it not sweep you
Smile
For the great in you
Bow
No! For none is greater than you
Fall
Yes angels to help you
Now
We are done talking now go do.

A SOUL FOR MY SOUL
To win and not lose is my way
Bit my gal is not Winnie
O` live and learn every single day
My gals name is indeed Olive
Plays and poetry appeal to me in a way
But none I find matches my wit
My smart has won me lots of admiration
But I thought its cos I was handsome
Ok, my handsomeness earned me a smart gal
Don’t argue on that Olive!
I keep too still that’s my only downside
I think, I read, I write
I have a cheque-book tomorrow I will cash one Billion
I’m serious, I’m daftly serious
I’m taking my gal on holiday to Israel
And maybe we’ll find God
We’ll go on a journey through who we are
And finally maybe our souls will become sole.
YOU AND ME
(In the face of a storm)
In failing you I failed myself
And thus;
Like two climbing plants
Our twirled tendrils together entwined
Rising high above the canopy of love
My stalk made weak by numerous storms
I swayed, swung and fell
Bringing you down with me
Yet you my true beloved
Held on me and overlooked my weakness
And in true devotion
You shared with me your strength
In your strength I became strong
You lifted me up and gave me hope
You taught me again
How to stand and how to be firm
What a great lesson
From my greatest of all
If I hold on you and share in you faith
You and me cease to be two but one
My truest strength in the face of a storm
MINES IN THE FIELD OF LOVE
I stepped on mine
In this field of love
Loaded with kegs of emotions
I was I blown, I fell and fractured my heart
And with only one doctor
Who could treat to heal
I vowed to search for her
And with all the pain in my heart
I could still picture her in my mind
Courage and faith became my friend
Who helped me along
Down the slope and up the hills
Every single creek I searched
Finding none and my heart almost in parts
I walked back to where it all began
And lo! And behold
One million and one
Physicians of all infirmities
All standing and begging to attend to me
And there, just as I had pictured in my mind
Our eyes met and my heart healed just then
TRIUMPH
(In the field of love)
Whereupon I fell last
And fractured my heart
I stumbled again and fell
And bruised my arm
Oh what tough luck
In this field of love
But knowing in this fields
Grew healing plants
I hurried past turnips and roses
Of what use to me
Would their petals be?
I looked beside cedars and pines
And there stood this solitary tree
Lush with beautiful leaves
And as I broke its leaves
I inhaled of its sweet scent
It healed me in a second
And then it occurred to me
I had to myself the Olive
And it was such sweet triumph
FINDING MYSELF
..was finding you.
A beautiful smile
Where there was a frown
Clasped hands
Where one arm hung
A chuckled laugh
From tickled nerves
Intrigued eyes
From charmed mind
Keen ears
For a shared story
Confidence up
Where esteem was low
Creative jokes
From a dancing spirit
Bubbly energy
From joyous motions
A face of hope
To radiate the world
A pure heart
Bred in the calmest confidence.
THE MUTUAL HEARTACHE
I have a heart-ache
To show for my soul-mate
It feels like an incessant itch
It burns like a flaming hear kiss
I have a heart-ache
From too hard throbbing of my heart
Acquired from this hug I received
From my woman who I had missed
Her hug makes my whole body quake
And a touch from this fairy-like miss
Does to me what the sun does to the arctic
This age old heart-ache
Is to us mutually shared
It sways, breaks and precipitates
In surging storms of emotions
Rising in waves so high to wash us
Down to the sandy beaches where we lay
Our mutual heart-ache soothed.
WHAT I GAVE THE WORLD
A million words of wisdom
A thousand smiles to free you
A shining star to guide
Encouraging words to strengthen you
I’ve brought colour to this world
Infinite knowledge to draw on
From self arrest I’ve freed you
From system arrest I bailed you
And like Leonardo Da Vinci
I walk with such grace you watch me
I’m so fresh and clean
They’re studying me to help reduce emissions
And you know what I heard the boys saying
They want to be me when they grow up
Little gals almost fighting
They want a big wedding with me when they grow up
And cute gals my age
They want my genes in their kids
Yet it’s so far from over
Kinda makes me feel like I’m too great for this world
Oh how I’m generous to this world
To win and not lose is my way
Bit my gal is not Winnie
O` live and learn every single day
