The Lift

High up the steps
One foot at a time
Climbing up the stairs
My feet carry me up

Rising,
I rise above myself
Above who i was
Higher and higher
To the world i belong

Lifting up
Leaving my weight behind
Light, like a lit rocket fired up
Light, like a baloon floating up
To meet & kiss the cool clouds above

I fly
Past time, past space
Past memories of days
Fast in a speed of light
Far into outer space
In newness of me

Smiling
As the million stars cheer for me
The winds of Jupiter blow on my face
The ashen light of Venus glow on me
The comets & metoers orbit around me

Looking down
Down at the bluey earth
Whose pull of gravity
I would have none
Whose wintery winter I would none
Nor the sweltering heat of summer

For here
With metoerites for neighbours
& My soul so close home
I desire of nothing
Nothing else apart from what
I can lay my eyes on

The beauty
Untold beauty beyond all imagination
To which my heart runs forth
