tribute to grandpa

I woke up this morning
To the voice of my grandpa prating
It felt like I was half awake
Or somewhat half dreaming
His measured words were weighty
His layered voice was warm
I imagined him facing towards heaven
Peering through the roof to the pearly gates
I swear he had Gods full attention
If he did not he had mine
I've got his blessings
He has got my thanks
I've also inherited his good genes
But I wish I also had half his charm
So if he goes before me
I'm spreading a net to catch his last breath
Then I can breath like he breaths
And charm like he did- All you out of your wits!
But for now all we've got is time
To talk and share before the present becomes a memory
In the prayer he thanked God for us
Proud of us like we are all proud of him
He spirit is preserved in us
To live forever to generations to come
And for a save, safe from the ravages of time
Phatsworldpoetry offers his spirit a home
Where GREAT minds live side by side
This is my tribute to you grandpa
Me, we, all of us bow for the Great that is you
Your enduring spirit will live forever
But before you're gone Grandpa
Share with me the secret to your charm
If I ever needed to use it then now is the time.
