Part 3......Something bigger than himself

...this poem is poem under construction..

Then he was jolted by a force of a thousand waterfalls
He trembled as he saw the roof of darkness fall
Rushing light fell all around him, spreading fast to settle
Let there be light, someone had let there be light!

And light brilliantly shone over his cupped face
His hands wet with tears, forgetful of himself like a child
The brightness of the light was visible under his closed eyes
Shaken, he dared not open his eyes; he wanted to but would not

There was absolute quietness, even his heartbeat was muffled
His mind was blank, clean like a book of plain empty pages
There was no thought in mind, there was not one
He waited for one, but none came, not even one

There was not a pattern formed in his mind
Images floated in his head making his heart flutter
Then warmth, warm enough to dry his falling tears
He opened his eyes again, to see trees swaying in the wind

...of Her Smile

Banish me from this city to a far-flung world
Build high walls all around that I cant climb back in
Strip me of all I own and give me a villain's send-off
But grant me one wish, let her face be the last one I see

Let my memory of this city fade away
That I have to ask for directions on every street corner
Let me get lost a trillion times if I may every day
But may I never lose this sweet memory of her smile

For even when I wonder through the streets lost
Stand at the crossroads not knowing which way to turn
When in my mind I see her face, all the burden I carry fall
And joy bubbles up inside me lifting my spirit up

She frees me from all the worlds cares
Unclenches me from the gripping holds of fears
One look at her and I am so full of life again
She with her bright spark reignites my dimming light

...of hope

Here where disappointment has visited and left its marks
Where pain has cut so deep leaving behind deep scars
where will has been so severely tested and faith almost lost
Here, even here, in the ashes lingers the inextinguishable rays of hope
